My big idea is www.GiftCardGirlfriend.com. I’ve been (a little too) obsessed with gift cards for years. Thanks to the internet and its emerging technologies, I’m able to share my insight with others. As a gift card expert, I help consumers turn gift cards into thoughtful, personal gifts. I also give advice on how much money to spend, how to avoid fraud, best places to buy gift cards and so forth. With my advice, consumers can gift card with confidence.

My Story
My siblings call me “Mother #2”—and sometimes they say it in a nice way. As the oldest girl in a big family, I naturally pitched in on the mom-type duties quite a bit. The added responsibilities may have seemed like a burden to others, but I cherished the role of being Mom’s assistant. Watching her juggle seven kids taught me a great deal about multi-tasking and problem-solving.

From the typical chore wheel to the more inventive “summer seating chart,” Mom continually created systems to make our family life run smoothly. And Dad frequently challenged me to do the same. When faced with a dilemma of my own, he’d say, “Use your Hunter Ingenuity to figure it out.” So I learned early in life that I could resolve almost any nagging issue with a little creativity.

After graduating from Brigham Young University with an Information Management degree, I figured the problems I’d solve would be computer-related. That was true until I had kids of my own and found myself surrounded by a myriad of nagging little issues! During that time, I invented the first of many products and thus began my journey as a mom and as a product developer. Although my primary and most important job is being a stay-at-home mom, I am compelled to invent, create, write, and strategize every chance I get.

A day will come when the time on my hands will be equivalent to the ideas in my head. But until then, I am a wife, a mother, a step-mother, and a part-time entrepreneur. I am planting seeds for a future harvest. I feel blessed.

Favorite Quote: “We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” By Joseph Campbell.

Least marketable skill: I win things. From a cakewalk in kindergarten to a raffle at the mall, when I put my name in the hat, I expect it to come back out…and it usually does.

Oscar speech: I could not have achieved anything I've done to date without the help of my husband. Not only does he lift me up with pep talks and praise, but he pitches in with the kids when I have to schedule the occasional conference call or barricade the door so I can focus on something for more than three minutes.
